Should I Balance My Trailer Wheels?

We often get questions on whether trailer tires need to be mounted AND balanced when being put on a wheel.

When a Trailer Tire and Wheel rotates on a trailer, asymmetries of mass may cause it to hop or wobble. This condition is exaggerated when trailers are towed un-loaded. This ride disturbance is generally more noticeable the faster the vehicle is moving. Balancing your Trailer tires will help with wobble, bounce and many other ride inconsistencies you may be experiencing.

We use Steel Wheel weights to conform with lead regulations which vary in all 50 states. All Aluminum assemblies will be static balanced using stick-on wheel weights, to ensure no corrosion occurs on your Aluminum Trailer Wheel.

Along with this, tire and rim assemblies that have been balanced, will have a prolonged life and better tread wear.

Our Tire and Wheel Assemblies at RecStuff.com are mounted but not balanced when they ship out of our factory. If you would like to balance your wheel assembly click here!

Note: 8" wheels and 10" wheels cannot be balanced.
