We tested our regular and bulge style acorn lug nuts against four competitors in a CASS (copper-accelerated acetic acid-salt spray) chamber. This test was developed by the American Electroplaters Society to measure the specific corrosion resistance of nickel-chromium platings. It involves subjecting plated parts to a salt solution at a specific temperature, pressure and length of time to emulate exposure to the elements.

Accelerated tests like this are employed by car manufacturers to measure quality and performance. A 22 hr. CASS cycle is considered to be equivalent to one year of exposure in Detroit weather conditions. Before each 22 hour CASS cycle the lug nuts were installed and removed using a lug wrench to simulate normal use.

For the original purchaser, RecStuff.com warrants our quadruple nickel-plated lug nuts against material or workmanship defects for the life of the product. RecStuff chrome-plated lug nuts are warranted for chips, peeling, or rust under normal care and usage. Only one (1) warranty claim can be made for the lifespan of each product purchased. Any damage that occurs to the product due to neglect, extreme weather conditions, or chemical exposure is not covered under warranty. Products that have been damaged through modification, mutilation, or excessive force (including the use of impact wrenches) are not covered under warranty. To file a warranty claim for suspected defective products, the customer must provide photographic proof of any defect and proof of purchase sent to support@recstuff.com. Following inspection and approval, replacement products will be sent to the original purchaser. Shipping costs of the replacement product will be incurred by the customer.     Short Tapered lugs were not the best choice for a recessed lug hole wheel. Had to use slim wall socket
