Description

kenda-logo.jpg

These ST175/80R13 tires have the Loadstar Karrier which is a tread pattern that is designed for improved handling and ride.  The construction disperses heat more efficiently and exceeds DOT requirements of performance.

This tire is DOT approved for highway speeds and use on US Highways.

This 8-ply tire has a load rating of 1375 lbs. when fully inflated to its max PSI of 70.  It is recommended to run trailer tires at their max PSI as that is what they are tested at for ratings and running them lower could cause tread wear issues or even a possible blow out.

    Ideal solution

Posted by Tim Fogarty on Apr 7th 2024

The reality is buying a rim & tires is pretty simple. The difficulty is shopping for the correct solution to the particular trailer...FYI-This tire and the 13X4.5 5-Lug on 4.5" Galvanized Spoke Trailer Rim perfectly fit my Magic Tilt trailer for my JV17 skiff... The plus of doing biz with Recstuff is for a small premium over me chasing install locally- Recstuff installed each of my tires on the rims. Avoiding the aggravation of dealing with local folks to put the tires on the rims was truly priceless! Side note-my research shows this 8 ply tire in the Radial is the solution for small boat owners who trailer long distance (Radial dissipates the heat generated in a small tire working hard. 8 ply insures much lower potential for a flat). Ready to roll.....

    Great customer service from Recstuff!

Posted by Bruce on Sep 8th 2019

After researching for new tires for our travel trailer, I came across recstuff.com. I decided to go with the Kenda Loadstar. I called recstuff and was immediately impressed with their knowledge of the tires I was interested in. My order was received within a few days of purchase ahead of the expected delivery date. I really appreciate the great service prior to purchase and the follow up emails. I had my Kenda Loadstar’s drop shipped to a local tire shop where they were put on my camper. The manager told me I made a great choice with my tire purchase.

Why are my new tires so OLD. The DOT code indicates tired made in 2018

Have been using the Kenda Loadstar tires since 2014. After several blowouts and tread separation issues on other Chinese Tires I moved up to Load Range D in the Kenda brand. SAME RESULTS. I would say avoid all CHINESE TIRES, but there is no AMERICAN COMPANY MANUFACTURING TRAILER TIRES in my size yet. Goodyear is making the ENDURANCE BRAND in limited size now back in the USA after their self inflicted suicide of their Marathon Tire when they turned it over to a Chinese Company.. As of now I get no more that 2 years out of the Chinese tires before they start coming apart. I'm giving KENDA LOADSTAR another chance, they just upped the speed rating to 81mph and increased the MAX PSI to 70. Not that I will ever tow at 80mph.. I am looking to their reserve capacity to increase and hopefully longevity will follow. Before someone jumps in and says I must be abusing my tires I will say that I always run at the MAX RATED COLD PSI., AND NEVER EXCEED THE SPEED RATING. I carry a laser thermometer and always check tire and wheel bearing temps at every stop. I have 2 different trailers. 1 is a single axel John boat, the other is a triple axel 22ft, 2 engine Ocean Catamaran. Both suffer the same issues with Chinese tires. They wear good... run cool, but fail after 2 yrs.

bought these with some black and silver 13" rims for my 22.5' Glastron

Love finally having Load Class D high speed trailer tires. Already had the class D 15" wheels in my transform axle rock band encoded trailer. They are the now American made line of GoodYear's. Unfortunately they aren't made in my boat trailer size. I looked around a lot and settled in these. They look like the best looking Chinese tire construction I've seen yet. I hope they hold together like they look!!!. I'll be using wheel covers to keep them out of the UV rays as much as possible. Mounting and balancing appears to be excellent. Ride is great sup far!

    Decent tire

Posted by Don on Apr 26th 2019

Bought 4 of these Kenda four years ago. Really have held up well. Had one blow out right in front of a ODOT crew who helped me change the tire. They determined I must have run over something sharp as the tire appeared to be cut across the tread not the sidewall. They traced back a few hundred yards looking for the cause of the cut but not finding anything determined the tire must have lasted awhile after being cut. Shipping was fast. Decent price.

Received tires promptly arrived ahead of schedule product was packed well and in great condition follow up by sales staff great Tires were exactly as advertised had them mounted and balanced Shop doing mounting and balancing said they appeared very. Round and balanced and true used very little weight to balance out much better than most Will now see how they wear and perform Tx
