These wheel bearing protectors are precision built to keep water and dirt out of wheel bearings on boat, snowmobile, motorcycle, or camping trailers. When Properly installed in hub of wheel they will
maintain internal pressurization and keep bearings greased to ensure long bearing life and troubled-free operation.
Installation is quick and easy. However, wheel bearings should be cleaned and repacked before installation of protectors. Questionable bearings should be replaced and new seals installed.
After replacing bearings in wheel hub and installing on axle spindle, place wheel bearing protector in dust cover bore. Drive in place using a block of wood against protector end to soften hammer blows.
Do not hammer Directly on unit. Apply alternate blows around end of protector to keep it square until seated in place.
Use a hand-operated grease gun with a good multi-purpose grease to fill unit. As you are pumping, the protector piston will travel outward until unit is filled. You will be able to tell when unit is full when grease comes out of the small how on the side of the housing. Install Protector Cover.
